AN IMPRESSIVE display of tractors descended on Stonehouse, South Lanarkshire, on Sunday August 8, in aid of Epilepsy Scotland. The event was organised by Jake Ferguson, a contractor and fencer from Chapleton, in memory of his dear wife Lorraine, who passed away in 2019.
Jake, who was born at Blackburn Farm, married Lorraine Miller in 1986. They spent five years in Ashgill, before moving to Crossford. Jake now resides on land once belonging to Bluefalls Farm, that was owned by his grandfather.
The tractor run, featuring 157 tractors from as far afield as Doncaster, was a great success, gathering crowds from the local area. The tractors embarked on a route via Sandford and Strathaven before arriving back at Galloway and MacLeod in Stonehouse. The event raised £14,940 for the charity. Lunch was provided by Country Bakes tearoom at L.S Smellie and Sons at Strathaven Rural Centre.
Jake said “It was a wonderful event to remember Lorraine. I would like to thank everyone who helped raise this incredible amount of money, in her memory. Epilepsy Scotland is such a worthwhile cause.” (Pics: Neil Arnott)
