Fife breeder, John McHardy of the Endrigs flock, secured the pre-sale championship with a ewe lamb at a show and sale of Dyed-in-the-Wool Wensleydale Longwool sheep, at Skipton.
His winner, a daughter of Princethorpe Schoolmaster, out of a home-bred Endrigs Comet dam, sold for the second top price of 500gns to the Parker and Bird Farming Partnership in Aylesbury.

It was a ram lamb from Ernie Sherwin, of the Nosterfield flock near Bedale, that topped the trade at 600gns. A Nosterfield Survivor son bred from a Brooklyn dam, he also sold to Parker and Bird Farming Partnership.
