Scottish breeder, Ewen Macmillan, Lurg, of Fintry, Glasgow, purchased the champion and top priced gimmer at 1400gns at the Jacob Sheep Society’s Northern Area sale at Skipton.
The gimmer, a four-horned entry by Thornley Vulcan and out of a ewe by Meathop Dun Boy, was consigned by Howard Walsh of the Thornley flock, Longridge, Preston.

Aberdeenshire breeder, Adam Christie, of the Adamski flock, Huntly, bought the second top priced female at 740gns, a four-horn ewe lamb from Mike Munro’s Kinloch flock in Ladybank, Fife. She is by Oakdean Dave, out of a home-bred Milldale Trueman ewe.
The same home sold a two-horn ewe lamb by the same sire, out of a Crowe family Bentley ewe, to Jamie Hardman, Windermere, for 540gns.
Jennifer Milton, Keith, went to 450gns for the second prize ewe lamb from Welsh breeders, Robert and Jean Price, of the Pentre and Pentrenant flocks from Churchstoke. She is by Kinloch Franco.
