Suffolks were in demand at Aberdeen and Northern Marts' sale of 1836 island consigned store sheep, when Shetland store lambs sold to £94 on three occasions from Kjemlea, Cunningsburgh; Hillcrest, Clousta and Islesburgh, Sullom.

Shetland store lambs (1211) averaged £79.02, whilst Uist lambs (625) cashed in at £70.02 and sold to £95 on two occasions, firstly again for more of the same breed from Aird, Illeray, North Uist, and secondly for Cheviots from Baleshare, North Uist.

An overall average of £83.27 was achieved at Harrison and Hetherington's sale of 2458 store lambs, where trade peaked at £130 for Beltex lambs from J and K Little, The Guards.

Among the pre-sale show the champion pen was awarded to the continental lambs from Mr Lee, Lintley, Slaggyford, which later sold for £110 per life to the judge, John Graham, The Wreay, Wigton.

Reserve honours went to the Mules from Messrs Watson, Sanders Close, Alston, which led their section at £91 per head.
