Gun owners have reportedly been targeted by animal rights activists following a data breach on a gun-selling website.
The leaked personal data, which includes names, addresses, postcodes, phone numbers and IP addresses of as many as 111,000 gun owners was stolen from the client records database of the Guntrader website.
It has since been reported that the leaked data has been published on a blog by animal rights activists, urging supporters to contact gun owners in their area and 'ask them if they are involved in shooting animals'.
As soon as the breach was reported there were concerns that those affected by the breach could be targeted by criminals, and some police forces have already provided warnings directly to gun owners in their area.
