Molly Westwood's open house, online sale of 17 red and whites from her Panda Holstein herd from Molland Ridge, Devon.

The event, which included red and white factor cattle, was Ms Westwood's first such sale which sold to £6800, to average £3700 for seven lots.

Breeders from across the UK and Europe attended both the farm and viewed online with the sale topped by Panda Dempsey Little Mix, a five-month-old ET red carrier heifer calf purchased by Lynn Robertson from Ashlea Farm. The first daughter of the current World Dairy Expo champion, Highcroft Absolute Lily Ex96 to sell outside North America, she is sired by Lirr Drew Dempsey.

Selling for £5400 was 21-month-old Panda Tangtastic ET, which was bred from a flush from the Ex90 Golden-Oaks TBK Twilight, the No 2 PTAT Daimondback daughter in the world going back to the Ex95 Alanvale Inspiration Tina. Second prize junior calf at the 2020 UK Dairy Expo, she sold carrying a female pregnancy for February to Attraction Red. Sired by Unstoppablue, Tangtastic was purchased by Dessie McCorry, Northern Ireland.

Anthony Grimshaw who owns the Carldanton herd bought two of the top lots, forking out £5000 for Panda Hidden Gem Red ET and £4600 for Panda Autumn O'Kalibra Red.

Dearest was the intermediate calf champion at the recent Mid Devon Show, an Avatar Red daughter bred from 11 generations of VG or Ex cows from the Gem cow family from Western Canada. Her dam is the VG88 Panda Applespie Gem Red.

Selling for £4600 was Panda Amazing Okasion In Red ET, a six-month-old heifer bred from the herd icon, Panda Autumn O’Kalibra Red and sired by Amaretto Red. She is the highest PTAT daughter of the maximum classified three-year-old and resembles her world famous third dam Decrausaz Iron OKalibra.

Messrs Cochrane, Kilmarnock, also went to £4600 for a choice ET heifer calf to be born in November from four pregnancies. The resultant calf will be a daughter of the Ex90 Golden Oaks DBK Twilight and sired by Amaretto Red.
