Mr Fagbohungbe holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and has worked in the fields of renewable energy and resource management, giving him seven years of experience in low-carbon technology development, and carbon management in agriculture, processing, and distribution.

His career also spans the disciplines of carbon reduction innovation, bioenergy, and waste and wastewater treatment process optimisation, all of which are linked to knowledge transfer activities and the deployment of innovative R and D support mechanisms for enterprises.

He said: “I am eager to help drive net zero transformation at Tilhill and across the organisation and to utilise my understanding of the drivers and mechanics of climate change. I am also certified to ISO 14001, 50001, and 14064 standards, putting a firm stamp on the credibility of the carbon team within Tilhill and CarbonStore.

“I have always been concerned about climate change and the possibilities for mitigating it. It's happening right now, and it's the most serious threat our species has ever faced. When I was offered the post of Carbon Manager, the chance to give my quota to climate change mitigation in Tilhill and company-wide opened right up. I was ecstatic.”

Tilhill’s business development director Stuart Pearson said: “I am really pleased to be able to bring Michael into the team, his knowledge and passion for sustainable business and Carbon reduction is something which we can all learn and benefit from and I look forwards to working with him to support the development of our Net Zero future."
