A ram lamb by the 100,000gns Sportsmans Batman from Adam Mawson's Midcombe flock, topped the second Solway and Tyne Texel Club sale at Carlisle, when selling for 4200gns.
The lamb, which stood second in his class from the Millom-based flock, Cumbria, is bred from a Garngour ewe by Ettrick Yom Kippur bought at the Select 7 sale in 2019 for 3800gns. He sold to Messrs Ashbridge and Son, Cold Kirkby, North Yorkshire.

Darlington-based Jeff Teward and son Stephen, New View, Staindrop, sold their fifth prize lamb, New View Evening Star, a son of the 350,000gns Sportsmans Double Diamond, for 2500gns. He is bred from a ewe by Teiglum Braveheart and was knocked down to Welsh breeders, Messrs Morgan, Llanfynydd, Carmarthen, Dyfed
Three lambs made 2000gns with the first being Kenny Pratt's Hilltop Emperor, from Oldtown, Peterculter, Aberdeenshire. A Castlecairn Diamond Vision son, he was purchased by Messrs Williams, Llanwnnen, Lampeter.
In an all Scottish transaction, Steven Renwick, Glenrath, Peebles, sold his Craig Douglas Email, to Messrs McKenzie, Gartnocharn, Loch Lomond. He is by Sportsmans Cannon Ball.
The last of the 2000gns bids came for Alan Clark's Garnour Edgar, from Garngour, Lesmahagow. He is by Wydden Ding Dong and headed down to Herefordshire with Messrs Owens, Shobdon, Leominster, Herefordshire.

Mrs Janice MacTaggart topped the females at 2000gns with her first prize gimmer and reserve champion from Orchardton Mains, Palnackie, Castle Douglas. She is by Procters Abracadabra, out of a home-bred ewe from her Nethertown flock and sold to Messrs Dixon, Corrie, Lockerbie.
* Stephen and Thomas Illingworth, Eaglesfield, Lockerbie, bought the two highest priced females at the Harold reduction sale of Texels from JV Hodgson and Son, Piercebridge, Darlington, forking out 1000gns and 750gns for gimmers.
Both were daughters of the Knock Yankee son, Harold Boston Red.
