A large entry of 6471 store lambs were forward for C and D Auction Marts' sale, where trade peaked at £122 for Texels from Routin Lynn.

Feeding ewes sold to £100 for Greyfaces from Holme Head, with hill ewes to £50 for Blackfaces from West Link Hall.

Lazonby

Texels led the sale of 1042 store lambs through Harrison and Hetherington, where trade levelled at £79.77 and Messrs Lyle, Staingills led the charge at £101.

Harrison and Hetherington's show of Blackface wedder lambs in conjunction with it's weekly store lamb sale, saw trade cash in at £70.22 for 809 sold.

Judge, Haig Murray, backed his decision and bought his champions – a pen from Bothwell Farm, at £80.

Taking reserve honours was a pen from Cramalt, which sold at £74, while Harehead attained £76 for their third prize winners.

The annual show and sale of Blackface wedder lambs through Lawrie and Symington averaged £70.14 with a top price of £87.50 paid for the first prize pen from T Renwick and Sons, Blackhouse.

The 1306 Cheviot and other breed store lambs were topped at £93 for Texels from Messrs Brown, Chesterhall, while the show of Cheviots, judged by Messrs Taylor, Aberdeen, was won by a pen from Messrs Menzies, Chanlockfoot, which later sold for £84.50.

Mules balanced out at £81.17 (+£0.59), with Cheviots averaging £79.53 (+£7.53), while Suffolk crosses and Blackfaces levelled at £78.36 (-£4.83) and £58.36 (-£1.72) respectively.
