EVER tried to explain about precision farming techniques to non farmers and failed? – then John Deere's new simulator allows your to show what it all means.

Its Precision Farming DLC (downloadable content) running on GIANTS’ Farming Simulator, is the second version of this popular video game focussing on sustainability and the use of modern technology to reduce the amount of herbicides, while making the application of organic and mineral fertilisers will also be more accurate.

John Deere, a global leader in precision farming technologies, and research bodies across the world, have had the project funded by EIT Food, which is supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology with the goal of improving society’s knowledge of modern farming.

And if you thought it would not be popular, think again. The first version of the simulator game had been downloaded nearly 1m times and feedback from the gaming community has been positive, with raised expectations for more features in the next version.

The next Precision Farming DLC will be based on the new Farming Simulator 22 video game, which will be launched on November 22, 2021.

While the first version included most of the basics of precision farming, such as soil sampling and variable rate applications along with the economic benefits for the farmer, the second version will focus on advanced precision farming technologies. Camera technologies will be used to reduce the amount of herbicides used and the application of organic and mineral fertilisers will be made more accurate with the use of modern sensors.
