Records for South Country Cheviot rams were smashed at a breed sale at Lockerbie, when two rams hit the £20,000 mark and the pen leader from Tom Elliot's Hindhope flock sold for a new high of £28,000.
Based at Jedburgh, this two-shear is a son of the £1600 Mountbenger Yabadabadoo, a tup purchased here back in 2018.
Out of a home-bred dam and having already proven himself as a breeder back at Hindhope, he sold in a two-way split to Jim Robertson of the Becks flock, based at Langholm and Billy Common buying for the family's Crossdykes flock, at Lockerbie.
