The champion, a red 320kg Limousin cross heifer from the Young family, Tormitchell, secured the top price of £2200 at Craig Wilson's sale of 407 suckled calves.

Judge, Stewart Dunlop, Holehouse, Ochiltree, found his reserve champion in a Limousin bullock from the Wyllie family, Skeldon Drive, which realised £1600.

Also forward were 1036 store and breeding sheep sold, which attained an average of £81.68.

Breeding sheep topped at £98 for Mules from Messrs Perrat, North Allerton, whilst store lambs peaked at £98.50 for Texels from J Purdie, Ravenscroft.
