Charolais females from Iain and Rhona Miller’s Lochend herd from Port of Menteith, met a cracking trade with 17 heifers selling to average of £5942 backed up with a top price of 12,000gns.
Star attraction and selling at that price was the yearling heifer, Lochend Rolo, a daughter of the 7500gns Gretnahouse Ming daughter, out of Mortimers Echo-sired Lochend Navajo, which had bred bulls to 7800gns. She was knocked down to Craig and Teen Malone, Pitcairn, Cardenden, Fife.

Highfields Park, Withyham, East Sussex, went to 10,000gns for the May, 2019-born heifer, Lochend Pawnee. She is by Nuthampstead Judas, which had bred sons to 8000gns and females to 8500gns, whilst the dam, Lochend Eve, has produced bulls to 6200gns and is by Bassett Unicorn. She sold in calf to Gretnahouse Ming.
Aberdeenshire breeder, R Mcaskie, Croft, Hill of Mulderie, Keith, forked out 9000gns for the first in-calf heifer in the ring, Lochend Ping. This March, 2019-born female is another by Ming, out of Lochend Mist and was scanned in-calf to Swalesmoor Oscar.
Another in-calf heifer, Lochend Plitter, made 8000gns selling to Jimmy and Graeme Sinclair, Crookston, Heriot. A Judas daughter, her dam, Lochend Glitter, is by Brampton Nacodar. April, 2019-born, she sold 11 weeks in calf to Gretnahouse Ming.

Lochend Ribena also made her mark when selling for 7000gns. Another Judas-sired heifer, out of the Mortimers Highlandfling daughter, Lochend Liquer, she found a new home with Louise McArthur, Cretlevane, Balfron Station.
