Holstein heifers from the Hodgson family's Wormanby Autumn Youngstock sale, staged alongside the Border and Lakeland Club sale at Carlisle, led the trade with two selling at 3200gns each and others at 3000gns twice.

First to sell at this price was the 14-month-old, recently served heifer, Wormanby Ewemoo Crushtime Camomile ET, which sold in a two-way split to Messrs Airey, Whittington, Carnforth, Lancashire; and Messrs Heuchan, Carnforth, Lancashire. She is by Col Dg Crushtime, out of Absolute Jacoby Ciao Bella VG87 and served to Delta Lambda.

Selling for the same money was the bulling heifer, Wormanby Haniko A Mahala, purchased by Messrs Cannon, Appleby-In-Westmorland. She is a daughter of Siemers Lambda Hankio, out of Wormanby Applicable Mahala VG87

The same buyers also went to 3000gns for another bulling heifer, Wormanby Discjockey Barbie. This yearling is by Claynook Discjockey while the dam is the Ex91 classified Clonbrick Britney Epic.

Another bulling heifer from the Hodgsons made 3000gns selling to Messrs Horsley, Catterlen, Penrith. Wormanby Crushtime Adeen, also by Col Dg Crushtime is bred from the Ex93 dam, Holmland Mardi G Adeen.

Topping the Border and Lakeland sale at 2800gns was the yearling bull, Whinnow Sh Finalist from I and GM Blamire, Mid Whinnow, Thursby, Carlisle. A Bomaz Fynn son, out of Whinnow Sh Agronaut Racer ET, he found a new home with Messrs Harrison, Aspatria, Wigton.

The pre-sale judge, Paul Stubbs, Whitgreave, Stafford, backed his decision when he bought his champion, Espland Crackshot Betsy, for 2700gns. This fresh June 2019-born heifer from DI and AA Cannon, Espland Hill, Brampton, Appleby In Westmorland, is a daughter of Sandy Valley Crackshot and out of Espland Betsy.

The same home also received 2300gns for Espland Crackshot Alison, purchased by Messrs Royall, Stoke-On-Trent. Another by the same sire, she is out of Espland Caviar Alison 2 VG85.

Berryholme Crushtime Maud, also made her mark for H Wright and Son, Berry Holme, Helsington, Kendal, when selling for 2700gns to Messrs Templeton, Auchinleck. Another by the Col DG Crushtime sire, is out of the Ex90 Berryholme Solomon Maud 2.

The same home then received 2500gns for Berryholme Pety Linda, which heads down to Staffs with Messrs Royall, Stoke-On-Trent. This two-year-old is bred from Berryholme Doorman Linda Ex91 and sired by Siemers Mogul Pety.
