RSABI is urging people in the agricultural industry to call the organisation’s helpline if they’re worried about their fuel bills this winter.

RSABI provides emotional, practical and financial support to people in Scottish agriculture, including grants to help with heating. In the financial year 2020/21, it gave grants of £21,000 to people living in fuel poverty.

With recent news suggesting that energy costs may increase, RSABI is encouraging people to call them if they’re struggling with bills or worried about fuel costs.

RSABI welfare manager, Chris McVey explained: “We don’t want anyone to be cold in their home this winter, and we’d encourage anyone in Scottish agriculture living in fuel poverty or worried about their energy bills to call us on 03001114166 to see how we can help.

“We know older, rural properties are often harder to keep warm. And with potential for energy prices to go up this winter, there may be a lot of people out there who are worried about heating their home.

“As well as providing help for heating grants we can also help by putting people in touch with other organisations who may be able to help reduce bills or give grants to help improve things around the house, such as insulation.
