A British Blue from Ian Wainwright, Todhall, Cupar, topped a pedigree British Blue sale at Skipton, when selling for 5000gns to Aberdeenshire producer, Bill Stephens, Turriff.

The bull, Todhall Otter, a May 2019-born entry by Sheehils Inspiration, is a grandson of Bringlee Carlos, and bred from Todhall Heather, a Colos Van Daisel daughter.

Blue females sold to 4000gns twice from the Alan and Graham Coates' Greystone draft sale from Rainscar, Stainforth.

First was for Greystone Purdey, an all-black yearling heifer by Farouk de st Amand bred from Greystone Kansas, a daughter of Almeley Ginola. She sold to J Cardwell, of Askern in South Yorkshire.

Also making 4000gns was Greystone Pringle, a similarly aged heifer by Pendle Bruce, bred from the Ringmaster daughter, Greystone Herpine. She joined Joe Crust’s Betterbred herd in Spilsby, Lincolnshire. Other Greystone entries sold at 3900gns, 3200gns and 3000gns twice.

Aberdeen-Angus females from the annual production sale of David and Josh Isherwood's Airedale herd from Kildwick, topped the fourth autumn sale of all blacks at Skipton when selling at 4000gns twice.

Airedale Kitt U552, a daughter of Airedale Lord Perseus out of The Moss Kitt, was the first to hit this price. This March 2018-born cow sold due with her third to Airedale Rockonboy, down to Wales with DE and R Rowbotham, of Ystrad Meurig in Ceredigion.

Also making 4000gns was the 2017-born Airedale Kinannie T541, by Weeton Ephos, She sold scanned with her second calf to Weeton Black Battleship, having been purchased by Stuart and Angie Burgess, Maryfield, New Abbey, Dumfries.

Another from the Isherwoods, Airedale Mr Essential V615, a 20-month-old bull by Airedale Kasper and a grandson of Weeton Lord Horatio, again out of a Horatio-sired dam made 3700gns when selling to Annan’s Andrew Ewing.

Leading price from the collective entry at 2600gns was Adrian and Penny Johnson’s five-year-old cow, Copperbridge Lady Ruth S002, from the Yearsley herd, Hambleton. Bred by Weald Moor Farms, she is by Rawburn Elysium and sold in calf to Black Hawk. She also sold to Stuart and Angie Burgess.
