A Limousin bull from Andrew Gammie and his father Jim's Westpit herd from Laurencekirk, has been sold privately for £35,000.
The April 2020-born Westpit Reno, which was purchased by Aberdeenshire pedigree and commercial breeder, Ian Miller, Midmar, is a son of the Gammie's stockbull, Dinmore Immense, which has bred sons to £20,000. The dam is the Powerful Irish-sired daughter, Westpit Lulu.
Mr Miller who established the Millers pedigree Limousin herd in 2019 and now runs 20 breeding females alongside a herd of 25 commercials, saw the bull on several occasions prior to buying him and made the decision at the family's herd open day in September.

"The bull is just so correct throughout with tremendous width and a phenomenal depth of pedigree. I'd seen the bull at home and he got better every time – I'm really looking forward to seeing the progeny from him.
"The aim now is to get semen from him as an insurance policy and hopefully sell straws from him in the future," added Mr Miller.
