Auchenlay Ross, a 10-month-old British Blue bull, might not have won any major awards at the Stars of the Future Calf Show at Stirling, but he certainly made an impression, having been sold privately for £10,000.

The calf from the Paterson family's select herd from Upper Auchenlay, Dunblane, boasts a star studded pedigree being sired by the 2018 Royal Highland Show champion Sandyvale Jagerbomb and bred from the top breeding female, Auchenlay Jessy.

Ross is a full brother to Auchenlay Nippy Sweetie, a leading show female that was first prize junior heifer at the Royal Highland Show 2019 and bagged a heap of accolades at the Royal Welsh the same year. These included: a member of the inter-breed team of five and home-bred pair and coveted overall Star of the Future heifer.

Ross sold to Andrew Anderson, Smallburn Farms, Duffus, Elgin.
