A top price of 2800gns was achieved on four occasions at the Aytonian Holstein herd dispersal sale staged on behalf of the Petch family, Whitegate, Middlesbrough, at Borderway Mart, Carlisle.

First to achieve that price was Aytonian Grace, purchased by Lanarkshire breeders, Messrs Fleming, Glassford, Strathaven. This four-year-old cow is a daughter of Val-Bisson Doorman, out of Aytonian Grace VG86 and sold due to Applejax, having calved in June.

Aytonian Iris also made 2800gns when selling across to Northumberland with Messrs Robinson and Son, Humshaugh, Hexham. Another by the same sire this three-year-old is bred from Aytonian Iris VG86 and again sold due to King Doc.

The last to make 2800gns was the three-year-old, Aytonian Annie VG85. A daughter of De-Su, bred from give generations of VG or Ex dams, she sold to Messrs Bulmers, Stranraer.

The same buyers also went to 2700gns for the similarly aged Aytonian Aster, by Claynook Casper and out of Aytonian Aster 437.
