LOCAL producers, Messrs Dixon, Wigton, purchased the top three highest priced lots at Harrison and Hetherington's Monthly Dairy Day sale at Borderway Mart, Carlisle.

Sale leader at £2300 was the freshly calved cow, Broughton Dot 54 from RJ Holden, Syke House, Broughton in Furness. This November 2017-born entry is by Gillette Caviar, and out of Broughton Dot 48.

Another from the same stable hit £2100 when finding a new home with Messrs Henderson, Annan. This freshly calved heifer, Broughton Karen 42 is by DE-SU Spring Silverardo and out of Broughton Karen 35 VG88.

Deerslet Painter Agatha achieved £2300 for R Lawson and Son, Deersleet, Burton, Carnforth. A 2019-born daughter of Peak Altapainter, she is out of the VG86 dam, Deerslet Rabo Agatha.

The third entry to sell to Messrs Dixon was the rising four-year-old cow, Cambus Lineman Pan VG86 from John Lyle and Co, Nether Pratis, Leven, Fife, which achieved £2250. A Comestar Lineman daughter, she is out of Cambus Missile Pan 3.

Several lots came under the hammer for £2150 to include four from Balcurvie Holsteins, Bankhead of Balcurvie, Fife. First was Balcurvie Moemoney Bunty, purchased by Messrs Mason, Shrewsbury. This October 2019-born cow is the result of a mating between the AI sire, Bacon-hill Moemoney onto Berview Cordial Bunty 26.

Messrs Fisher, Kirkcudbright, then forked out the same money for Balcurvie Keegan Nancy, a Gerrard Keegan daughter out of Balcurvie Flame Nancy.

Local producers, Messrs Coulthard, Carlisle, also went to £2150 for Balcurvie Dealmaker Portia, sired by Claynook dealmaker, out of Balcurvie Fortney Portia.

Baldwin and Son, Preston, purchased the next three at £2150, to include another from Balcurvie, in the form of the October 2019-born, Balcurview Silver Halo. She is by Seagull-Bay Silver and out of Balcurvie Flame Halo.

Selling for the same money was a freshly calved Holstein Friesian from Robert Gemmell, Brownfield, Dumfries.

Finally, Netherlea Altalobello Donna, from Robert Baillie, Longlea, Netherburn, Larkhall, also made £2150 to Messrs Baldwin and Son and is by Peak Altalobello, out of Dalserf Skoda Donna.
