Cast cow records were smashed at Aberdeen and Northern Marts' Thainstone Centre when a pure British Blue cow from Grant Dinnie of Tanqueray Pedigrees, Bridgeton, Muir of Fowlis, sold for £2130 or 229p per kg.
The seven-year-old, 930kg cow, was the result of a frozen embryo purchased for Mr Dinnie's herd and is believed to be a record price for a cull cow sold in Scotland.
