Aberdeenshire producer, Kevin Milne, Dunecht, made his mark at a sale of Oxford Down at Worcester, forking out 800gns – a new breed record – for a ram lamb.
Selling at this price was a lamb from James Brown's Redhouse flock from Tenby, Pembrokeshire. By Barley Park Ulysses, he is out of a home-bred female by Fleetham Rammy McRamface.
Topping the sale at 880gns was the shearling ram, Montrose Angus, from Newport, Monmouthshire-based HV Graham. Reserve champion at the pre-sale show and home-bred on both sides, he sold to Bob and Lesley Parry, Rhosgoch, Anglesey.
