Lanarkshire sheep breeder, Alistair Morton, Lanark, came home in style from a joint production sale of Texel gimmers from the Loosebeare and Whitehart flocks at Worcester, having purchased the sale leader at 3600gns.

Selling at this price was an entry from father and daughter duo Jim and Nicola Hartright's Whitehart flock from Stanford Bishop, Herefordshire, a daughter of Teiglum Cosmic out of a dam by Loosebeare Voomer.

Teiglum Cosmic was also behind the 2000gns second top price from the Quick family's Loosebeare consignment from Devon. She is bred from a Loosebeare All Gold-sired dam and was purchased by Angus Howie buying for the Millhouse flock at Cheriton Bishop, Devon.

Another Loosebeare gimmer by Cosmic made 1850gns selling to the Robinson family's Preenbank flock, Church Stretton, Shropshire. Her dam is by Hollyford Vroom Vroom.

averages: Loosebeare – 25 gimmers £808.92. Whitehart – 24 gimmers 885.94.
