Black Magic proved the star attraction at Perth Show, when she not only claimed the beef inter-breed but also the prestigious champions of champions honours for Blair Duffton, Huntly.

This Limousin cross commercial heifer is jointly owned by Beth Wilkinson, Leyburn, and Gareth Small, Northern Ireland, and was previously champion at the Great Yorkshire and first at the National Beef Expo in May. Bred by Ms Wilkinson, she is by Ronick Hawk and out of the former show cow, Pocahontas.

“It’s very hard to find any faults in her,” said the beef judge, Archie MacGregor, Allanfauld. “She is a well balanced animal and was brought out to perfection. She has a tremendous cover of meat on her being well fleshed across her plates – just a real good meat machine.”
