Moonlight, a black Limousin cross heifer from James Nisbet and family, Sorn Mains, Ochiltree, secured the overall prime beef cattle championship at a highly successful LiveScot event at Lanark.
The heifer, a 22-month-old by Gallaber Leo, that has landed several top awards throughout the summer, was bred by Mark and Fee Ewbank. She later sold for the top price of £7800 to Allans Butcher, Stewarton.
Near neighbours, Hugh and Stewart Dunlop, Holehouse, Ochiltree, picked up the reserve overall championship with the bred supreme, Martha Mae, a 19-month-old Limousin cross heifer. She is by Huntershall Nutcracker, and was not forward for sale.
