A farm in the Ballogie area of Aberdeenshire, had three bull calves stolen on January 13, according to a report from Police Scotland.

The theft was from an open barn and the three calves were worth an estimated £9000, said a statement from local Police. The crime follows a number of incidents which occurred in rural Aberdeenshire between December and February.

Police in the North of Scotland also reported that on December 13 a property in the Gartly area had 2000 litres of kerosene stolen from near Huntly. Also on that day, in Mintlaw, a Yamaha quad bike valued at £3000 was stolen from a farm between St Fergus and Mintlaw.

In Turriff, on Christmas Eve, two geese and a lamb were stolen from a rural property and on January 4 there were two hay rings valued at £360 stolen from a farm near Turriff. In Peterhead on January 3, a number of chickens were killed by a dog in a livestock worrying incident at a farm.

Near Westhill, a male was charged with various offences after attempting to steal a motor vehicle from a farm in the area on January 12.

In the Fetteresso area, a number of lambs were killed in a livestock worrying incident on January 16. Three lambs were killed and a further four received serious injuries in the attack which is believed to have happened between January 24 and 25.

A Toyota Hi Lux was stolen from a farm near Newmachar on January 16. Between January 18 and 22 a Honda 420 quad bike and box trailer were stolen from a barn in the Durris area. Meanwhile, on a farm near Balmedie, on February 2 a Karcher power washer was stolen and finally, a livestock trailer was stolen in Keith and then recovered by police at a farm also near the town.
