Grayridge Milio Dellia took the supreme calf championship at the Lanarkshire Holstein Club showmanship and calf show, staged at Lanark Agricultural Centre.
The yearling calf from the Gray’s Grayridge Holstein herd based in Drumtall, East Kilbride is sired by Eclipse Milo and bred from Grayridge Kenosha Dellia.
Judge, Katie Davidson, Halmyre, Castle Douglas, found her reserve from 26 calves forward in Greentowers Farms’ Greentowers Santos Roxy. This eight-month-old is a Boghill Glamour Santos daughter and bred from Stair Royal Roxy VG88.
Honourable mention was Cauldcoats Chief Fay 3, from Donald Laird, Murrays Farm, Pathhead. Brought out by stockman, Gavin Redpath, she was paraded by Gavin’s son John, and is sired by Stantos Chief A3A2, out of Cauldcoats Mario Fay VG87.
New exhibitor, Matthew Gray from Langside, Kirkfieldbank, won the showmanship championship after first winning the junior section.
Reserve was Ruth Allison, Parkend, Crossgate with John Redpath from Murray Farm, Pathhead taking honourable mention.
The Tom Allan Cup – presented to the highest placed junior in the stockjudging and showmanship sections – was presented to Grace Lawrie, Grangehall, Pettinain.
