Film star Tom Hardy was in Powys over the bank holiday as he climbed the Brecon Beacons.

The star of Mad Max, Batman and Peaky Blinders was in the county over the weekend with his pet French Bulldog, Blue as he looked to explore the world famous Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National park.

Tom posted on his Instagram account that he had conquered the highest peak in the region – Pen y Fan – with Blue as his “wingman”.

In a post on Instagram Tom said: “That time Blue nailed the [Fan] in the wet and cold #dogsdo #bestoffriends #teams #nodripormoan. Thankyou for being my little big wingman always.”

Tom is no stranger to Wales, as three years ago he shot the upcoming film Havoc, directed by Gareth Evans which saw him spotted multiple times around the city.

Pen y Fan is one of the most popular spots in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National park and is the highest peak in the southern half of Wales.

It is considered one of the three peaks of Wales along with Snowdon and Cader Idris and sees visitors all year round.
