Massey Ferguson, a global brand of AGCO, is pleased to announce enhancements to its hay and forage harvesting range. The latest improvements include options for conditioners on the new generation butterfly mowers and additional features to boost productivity on its widest four-rotor rake.
Jérôme Aubrion, marketing director of Massey Ferguson, Europe & Middle East, stated: “Since its launch, Massey Ferguson’s hay and forage equipment has been well received by owners and dealers, earning a good reputation for productivity and efficiency. These latest developments are part of our strategy of constant improvement to ensure we continue to deliver our customers exactly the right machines with the specifications they require.”
Aubrion added: “Offering a choice of conditioners for the butterfly mowers enables users to improve forage quality using the system that is most appropriate for their crops and conditions. Upgrades to the new generation four-rotor rakes increase durability and improve operation, helping operators form the perfect swath for following machines.”
Conditioner Options for MF DM 8612 Mowers
The latest MF DM 8612 TL butterfly mower is now available with tine (KC) or roller (RC) conditioners, featuring:
Heavy-duty drive to conditioner
DUO drive roller conditioner option
Adjustable conditioning intensity
Proven hydro-pneumatic suspension
Adjustable overlap for increased accuracy
Folds vertically to within 4m for transport
Tine or Roller Conditioners
The new MF 8612 TL mower, with an 8.6m width, now offers tine (KC) or roller (RC) conditioner options. These options speed up wilting, shorten the drying process, and improve crop quality.
KC Tine Conditioner
The KC tine conditioner uses four rows of flexible tines, now 5mm longer, secured against loss to protect following machinery. The crop is processed against an adjustable hood made from 4mm thick steel for increased durability. Four position settings allow users to set the appropriate conditioning intensity.
RC Roller Conditioner
The RC roller conditioner uses two intermeshing rubber rollers to compress the crop. These rollers have spiral profiles for intensive yet gentle conditioning, suitable for legumes and other leafy crops. Adjustable roller pressure allows operators to set the conditioning intensity, with the upper roller lifting under preset spring pressure to protect against foreign objects.
Robust Driveline
The conditioners are powered from the main gearbox or through the implement driveline, with shear bolt protection. The RC roller conditioner also offers an optional DUO Drive, powering both upper and lower rollers, suitable for heavy and damp crops.
Advanced Suspension System
The latest generation butterfly mowers feature the TurboLift hydro-pneumatic damping system, allowing a lateral swing angle up to 19° downhill and 30° uphill.
This ensures close contour following to protect the sward, reduce contamination, and improve forage quality. Two-position width adjustment ensures uniform cutting when used with 2.8m, 3.0m, and 3.10m wide front mowers. The mowers fold to below 4m for transport, improving stability and storage.
Four Rotor Rake Developments
The MF RK 1404 TRC-PRO Gen2 four-rotor rake, with working widths from 10.5m to 13.8m, now boasts increased productivity, durability, and ease of use.
Key features include:
Fully ISOBUS compliant control with proCONNECT
myMemory rake management system for quick field set-up
gapControl for precise rotor overlap adjustments
Durable plastic covers replacing metal guards for corrosion resistance
New sensors for steering angle, lifting axle and swath width
Optional five LED lights for use at night
A folding system, operated from the cab, ensures rotors lift or lower only when the axle is in the correct position. This feature makes it safer and convenient to transport, adhering to a 4m height limit for certain markets.
