A stolen tractor and muck spreader was tracked down near Bishop Auckland.
After extensive enquiries, the John Deere agricultural equipment was located and recovered before it was returned to its owner.
An investigation is ongoing to identify those responsible.
Durham Constabulary launched the Rurali initiative earlier this year to work together with our rural communities and tackle issues specifically affecting rural residents.
PC Rich Bryson praised members of our rural community whose continued partnership allows officers to act swiftly and effectively.
He said: “It’s always great to have a positive outcome and I’d particularly like to thank our rural residents who continue to work with us to crack down on criminals who try to target their communities.”
