TWO new surveyors have joined Strutt and Parker.

The new recruits have joined land management and estates and farms agency.

Douglas Orr has come from H and H Land and Property to join the estates and farms agency team in Edinburgh, which is led by Robert McCulloch.

Douglas said: “I am delighted to join an established team within a well-known and respected firm. I am looking forward to working with the various teams in offices throughout Scotland to continue to provide an excellent service to new and existing clients.”

Mr McCulloch said: “We are really pleased to welcome Douglas to Strutt and Parker. He has a strong understanding of rural Scotland and brings a range of skills to complement the rest of the team. I have no doubt he will be an excellent addition at an increasingly busy time for farm sales in Scotland. More farms came to the market in Scotland last year than at any point in the last 10 years and we anticipate a similar picture this year.”

Will Gray, who started his career with Savills in Cambridge, has returned home to his family’s farm in Angus and has started work for the land management team in Strutt and Parker’s Perth office, led by Andrew Aitchison. He is supporting existing instructions and working on developing new business opportunities, primarily land and estate management/consultancy in Angus, Perthshire and Fife. He brings with him particular experience in institutional client management.

Will said: “I am very pleased to be joining such an energetic and professional team at an interesting time for the rural sector. I am looking forward to addressing the challenges of running my own farm business and applying this new experience and my existing knowledge to help our clients with their own holdings across some of the most productive and beautiful countryside in the UK.”

Head of rural for Scotland, Andrew Aitchison, said: “Will has a wealth of experience and is already proving a valuable addition to our team in Perth. These two key recruits mark a strong and exciting start for Strutt and Parker in 2019.”
