LAST weekend, the West Region hockey competition was held at Stirling University – with four teams winning their way through to the National finals.
A total of eight teams competed against each other during some challenging 24°C heat. The contest took the form of two leagues, prior to semi-finals and finals, in which Ayrshire Reds came out on top against Callander, to take the title.
The winning team included Robert Clark, Ross Paton, Sandy Craig, Harry Bell, Laura Scott, Katie Scott and Aileen Rennie.
That team will proceed to the Nationals along with those from Callander, West Renfrewshire and the Ayrshire Black team.
