THE PRESTIGIOUS West Region Mr and Miss Competition was held on Saturday October 19 at Forth Leisure Centre, with judges Scott Wilson, plus Bert and Helen Russell having the difficult job of choosing their winners from an exceptionally high standard of entries.
They found their Miss Young Farmer in Biggar YFC’s Lyndsay Wight, with runner-up going to Jennifer Veitch, of Mauchline, and third place to Jennifer Tennant, of Lanark.
Ross Johnston, of SSS YFC, was crowned Mr Young Farmer, with second place going to David Smith, of Crossroads, and third to Stewartry’s John McCulloch.
