IS IT sign of the times that when Highland cattle are allowed back into the picturesque village of Plockton, some of the locals rebel?
Time moves on and so, when 15 years ago the local cattle population were banned from their perambulations through the village, we all thought that might be the end of it.
However, now that the original ban has expired [it was time limited], cattle are once again free to crap on the streets and sate their hunger in gardens. This has aroused the ire of some of the locals.
The big questions are: Should the animals be left free to roam? Should the locals defend their gardens by fencing them off; Should they be declared a National Treasure? I know which one I’m voting for.
