Sir, – Re your report in The SF that the Scottish Government is going to spend £320,000 to create four clerk positions and base them in the Western Isles.
Seems to me that there is something wrong – £80,000-plus, or £45 per hour, is a bit inflated?Yet the commission asks clerks on grazing committees to work for nothing and to clype on fellow shareholders, as they say themselves 'According to the Acts', for nothing!
May I suggest one guy with a laptop would do the necessary paperwork that clerks are supposed to do, thus cutting red tape and the unnecessary pain and frustration trying to deal with faceless stupid persons that have no understanding of what crofting is about.
And, as it turns out, the commission is just another employment agency ruled by a social housing expert!
Like will attract like!
