SIR, – We were interested to read Jim Walker’s Farmer’s View, in last week's issue while we were here on holiday from Western Australia where we have farmed since 1973.

My husband. Jim and I were early adopters of the Meat Standards Australia (MSA) programme which is designed to follow the production of meat from paddock to plate to ensure a satisfying beef meal for consumers. In the same issue, the letter from Denise Wilson hit the mail on the head – ALL farmers need healthy soil to produce healthy food.
