BREXIT has been officially triggered and there is no going back (well, maybe not, as the official EU response makes mention of the UK being able to change its mind)!
Scotland received no mention whatsoever in the dialogue between the Prime Minister and the EU. This is in contrast to the City of London which received a hammer blow when the EU said that there would be no special deal for this country’s financial hub.
This should be good news for our fishing communities, which cannot now be a pawn in any trade off to help bolster the City of London’s financial standing in the world. That is, unless Theresa May finds some other reason to sell the fishermen down the river.
Where Theresa May is correct, though, is in her assertion that there cannot be another independence referendum before Brexit is complete.
Hopefully, now ScotGov can get back to governing the country! For starters, it can stop applying sticking plasters to its CAP rural futures computer system. The industry need an honest answer here and now! Tell us when it will be fixed, or bite the bullet and start from scratch.
Rural Scotland is fast running out of patience!
