THE RSPB'S beef herd on Islay at Aoradh has been named the best herd overall in the annual Islay herds competitions against 17 others.
The winning herd – as judged by Terence Glen – also produced the best team of cows and the first prize team of spring-born calves, which were deemed the best overall team of calves.

Highland herd – 1, Kinnabus (D Laing); 2, Easter Ellister.
