Winners omitted from last week’s Scottish Beef Supreme Cattle Championships at Keith Show, included the Hereford champion and Limousin best as the reserve native and continentals, respectively.

The event, which is staged at Keith, needs animals to have won a championship at any Scottish show this year, to qualify.

Reserve native was father and daughter duo, George and Sophie Harvey’s, Harvey Bros 1 Crocus Rose, from Balfron. Champion at Gargunnock, Drymen, Stirling and reserve at the Highland. She also led the National breed show at Perth and was reserve inter-breed beef.

Dougie McBeath and Sarah Jane Jessop, Lower Greenyards, Bannockburn, had the runner up amongst the continentals with Springsett Orchid, a rising two-year-old heifer that was champion at Perth, reserve overall champion at the Scottish Grand Prix at Kelso, and in the top inter-breed team at the Highland.

Reserve commercial was Blair Duffton and Rebecca Stuart’s well-known Limousin cross show heifer, I’ll be There. She picked up championships at Keith, Echt, New Deer, Banchory, Turriff, Black Isle and Grantown.

And, Calum and Rachel Cruden won the any other MV sheep breed section and not as previously reported.
