On Thursday, August 22, the West of Scotland Holstein Club held their annual Herds Competition which was this year judged my Hugh Neilson from East Brackenridge, Strathaven. On the day there were eight herds competing for the silverware. The weather was kind and there was a fantastic following round the herds from the club members. In the evening the club held their dinner and presentation at Enterkine House.
Winning the BOCM Pauls Trophy for the Team of 10 cows was Robert Sloan, Darnlaw, winning most points overall was John Howie from Tarshaw with Robbie Scott, Shacklehill taking the reserve. The 2019 best new entrant prize went to George Borland, Mossbog. The event was sponsored by ForFarmers and the club very grateful for their continued support.
