Annandale YFC were crowned overall winners at the Dumfries and Galloway District Rally, where six clubs competed for the title.

The clubs – Stranraer and Rhins YFC, Machars YFC, Stewartry YFC, Lower Nithsdale YFC, Annandale YFC and Thornhill YFC – came to Little Milton, Crocketford, by kind permission of the Barbour family, for a variation of events and competitions throughout the day, including Tug of war, handicrafts, stock judging, sheep shearing, obstacle course, bale push and a brand new inter-club junior challenge, created to help juniors get to know members from across D and G!

Runners up in the overall competition were Machars YFC with Lower Nithsdale YFC settling for third place.

“After a tough two years it was great to have all our clubs back together at one of the showpiece events of the year. More than 200 people were in attendance, with a fantastic showcase of the skills and talents our members of all ages have, while giving them the chance to compete and socialise with members as far apart as Lockerbie to Stranraer,” said D and G chairman, Colin McKinnon.
