Westbroad Pablo, a massive Beef Shorthorn bull from Duncan Welsh, was crowned champions of champions at Stewarton and Dunlop Show.

The bull, a rising two-year-old, brought out by stockman, Ian Johnstone, stood pure-bred native champion at Neilston Show. He is a son of the 12,000gns Shawhill Leroy and out of the home-bred dam, Westbroad Delila.

Kittochside Louise's Sundance Ex95 stood Ayrshire champion before going on to take the top award in the dairy section for the National Museum of Rural Life, Kittochside. Another champion winner from Neilston Show, this seventh calver, which was paraded due in September, boasts a lifetime yield of 31,514kg. A Grandage Bright Spark daughter, she is bred from the Ex93-classified dam, Kittochside Nora Louise.

A Texel ewe hogg from Graeme McCarter of the Glenfern flock, Stewarton, topped the sheep lines. Another breed champion from Neilston Show and reserve winner at Beith, her pedigree features the £60,000 Strathbogie Yes Sir and a Knock Yardsman-sired ewe.

Pure bred continental (Judge: A Weir). Champion – J and Aimee Young, Over Auchentiber, Stewarton.

Native breed (Judge: A Weir). Champion and supreme beef – D Welsh, West Broadmoss, Fenwick. Reserve – D Welsh, West Broadmoss, Fenwick.

Highland (Judge: S Campbell, Keppochan House, Cladich, Dalmally). Champion – R and E McMillan, Little Grenach, Isle of Bute. Reserve – A Clotworthy, Kilmaurs.

Suffolk (Judge: A Johnstone, Meikle Carleith, Galston). Champion – Rigfoot Suffolks, Rigfoot, Uplawmoor, with a three-crop ewe. She is out of the champion ewe at Kilmacolm, sired by Pyston Phantom and stood champions of champions at Kilbarchan in 2019. Reserve – L Kirk, Waterside House, Dunlop.

Border Leicester (Judge: A Johnstone). Champion – D Whyte, Newton Mearns. Reserve – D Whyte.

Continental (Judge: A Johnstone). Champion – H McPhee, North Lodge, Dundonald. Reserve – M and J Simpson, Tardoes, Kilmarnock.
