John Watson’s Shetland stallion, Kerloch Rupert, took the supreme at the Newtown St Boswells and District Farmers Show staged at St Boswells Auction Mart.
This 16-year-old was tapped out by judge, Mr and Mrs Chris Broad, who selected the ridden hunter champion, Mr Emperor as their reserve.
Champion in the sheep section was a North Country Cheviot ewe shown from Willie and Laura Thomson, Hownam Grange, Kelso. The winner of the young handler’s was James Cowen.
A nine-year-old Irish red and white setter took the top ticket in the dog show for Euan Cameron from Crailing.
