Some 80 entries were forward for the 106th North of Fife Foal Show at Highfield at Howe, where Jim Greenhill's Tulloes Sensation, secured the overall championship.
The April-born colt on his show debut was shown by daughter Louise and is sired by Arradoul Balvenie out of Tulloes Lady Jane. This makes Sensation a full brother to the 2022 World Show champion, Tulloes Emily.
For the second week running, the junior colt from Ronnie Black took the reserve overall and reserve foal spot. Collessie Gladiator, by Collessie Highlander, out of Littleward Lady Athena, won the junior colt section at Kilmarnock and Lanark.
The Collessie stud also won the senior championship with the previously unshown Collessie Contessa. In hand judge, Irvine Anderson from Perthshire, selected the yearling filly by Collessie Monarch, out of Collessie AnnaB, from Ronnie Black.
The Reserve senior was Scott Greenhill's mare Fordelhill Limelight. The three-year old was champion at Kinross and also won the Great Yorkshire Show last year. She is by Glebeview Sir Charles and out of Fordelhill Heather Mairi.
The seven entries forward for the ridden section were topped by the 10-year-old Peggyslea Buddy from Ailsa Noble. The Millisle Solway Bay-sired gelding swapped his driving harness to compete under saddle. A former Royal Highland Show winner, Buddy has also attended HOYS on two occasions.
Judge Lorraine Clark from Glasgow was in charge of three sections ridden, driving, and young handlers. Her top pick from the driving section was Freezlund Esmie from John and Margo McIntyre. Driven by Allison Snowie this mare has had a great season and also took part in the musical drive at HOYS, last month.
The young handler classes again had a good number of participants with the senior section, for ages 12-16, won by William Greenhill from Fordelhill Clydesdales. The junior young handlers for entrants aged 11 and under was won by Harry Martin from Angus.
