A few showers and a sodden show field failed to dampen spirits at the 125th Mid Argyll show, staged near Lochgilphead, where some vehicles had to be towed onto the field following eight days of rain on the run up to the event.

However, exhibitors and spectators still enjoyed a busy day, including new entertainment from the Eriskay Lilt Ceilidh band, and for the first time, showgoers were invited into the main ring to join Mid Argyll’s longest Strip the Willow.

Overall champion of champions was the sheep inter-breed winner, a two-crop Texel ewe from Sheena Woodrow and family, Isle of Islay. The female by Claybury Dunkirk had already stood champion in her section at Islay, and last year was reserve female at the Royal Highland, and champion of champions at Kintyre.
