Wigtown Show continued a cracker of a week – and show season overall – for the Goldie family of Newbiemains, Annan, as their Simmental cow, Newbiemains ICandy was tapped out champion of champions.
Having taken the beef inter-breed at Dumfries Show the previous Saturday, this seven-year-old cow has also won a string of red rosettes.
Champion of champions judge Colin Mair, Mouswald, said: “She caught my eye as soon as she came into the ring. What a unit – an excellent cow with an equally excellent calf at foot.
“She is shear power and capacity. Having seven calves and still looking youthful and fit is no mean feat!”
ICandy is by Woodhall Fantastic, out of Newbiemains Flora, and was shown with her calf, Newbiemains Rolo.
