Nominations are open for the 2024 David Thomlinson Lifetime Achievement Award, which honours the extraordinary life and legacy of David Thomlinson, a respected auctioneer, renowned farmer, and Limousin breeder who dedicated 40 years of his professional life to Harrison and Hetherington.
The Award was established in 2021 to commemorate David’s significant contributions to the agricultural community and seeks to recognise individuals who embody the same passion, dedication, and kindness that David exemplified throughout his life.
The judging panel for the 2024 award comprises including David Pritchard, former managing director of Harrison and Hetherington, and Cumbrian vet David McCrea. The award will be presented by David’s wife, Sheila Thomlinson, at Borderway Agri Expo on Friday, November 1, 2024.
The 2023 David Thomlinson Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to North Northumberland farmer, George Neill. Reflecting on his recognition, George said: “Over the years I had many discussions with David Thomlinson, and I thought the world of him. I was so honoured to be recognised and to receive the David Thomlinson Lifetime Achievement Award, and I never thought I was worthy enough to receive something of this calibre.”
Nominations for the 2024 David Thomlinson Lifetime Achievement Award are now open. Those wishing to nominate someone who has made a significant impact on the agricultural industry and embodies the values that David held are encouraged to enter before the deadline of Friday, 27 September.
