The Logan family’s Holehouse herd came up trumps in the West of Scotland Holstein Club Summer Herds competition to win the award for the best team of 10 calved females for the third year in succession.
The competition, which was judged by Andrew Patterson, saw nine herds compete in various sections. It also saw two new awards presented – the Joan Esquierdo Trophy for the overall Red and White champion presented by Salvador Esquierdo, and the Jim Kennedy Trophy for the supreme champion cow presented by Hugh and Ruth Kennedy.
