Pedigree sheep from David Roberts' Boyo flock from Leasowes, Kenley, in Shrewsbury, led the Females with Figures sale of pedigree Charollais at Worcester Auction Mart last weekend, selling the majority of top priced lots including the sale leader, a gimmer at 3100gns.
Changing hands at this price was a daughter of Banc Nomis, bred from reserve breed champion at the Great Yorkshire Show in 2015. Her buyer was Lawrence Buckland from Stonebow Farm in Ashleworth, Gloucestershire, who also went to 900gns for another Boyo gimmer by Banc Nomis.
Other gimmer entries from Mr Roberts, saw Paul Amphlett, Tawelfa, Powys, fork out 1550gns for one bred from a 2400gns Banwy ewe bought at the flock dispersal and sired by Oakchurch Rufort.
The flock also topped the ewe lamb section at 1500gns for an entry sired by the 7000gns Wernfawr Spartacus out of a Bronwydd-bred ewe. The buyer was Bryan Evans, from Penrhos, Powys.
Averages: 19 gimmers, £707.36; eight ewe lambs, £498.75. Camp House flock – 13 ewes, £276.23; 17 gimmers, £345.26.
