James Scott came home in style from this year's Royal Highland Show, having privately purchased the third prize Suffolk ram lamb at the event from Mrs JJ Tooze's Spittal flock, for £10,000.
An agricultural engineer to trade at JH Scott Engineering, Forfar, Mr Scott owns the 30-ewe Strathview flock and hopes to sell females in lamb to him at the Aberdeen Christmas Classic show and sale in December.
The lamb, a son of the 7000gns Crewlands Crete, bought in 2016, is bred from a Spittal ewe by Errigal Enterprise.
